Tree and exploration

Your family, from every angle.

Explore your family tree, calendar and lifespans. Follow relationships and events from different angles, with every view using the same research.

The mechanism

Choose a person to explore from

Set a point of interest, move through the tree, pan and zoom, and adjust the generations shown. Open an underlying person or family when a connection needs a closer look.

The ancestor fan follows recorded parents; the descendant sun follows recorded descendants. Branch outlines and comparison help inspect lines of descent, while the network view follows connections beyond one family line. Calendar, lifespan and Lexis views put lives and events in context.

The limit

What this does not do

A clear diagram can still contain uncertain research

The view is built from your project’s records. It cannot supply missing parents or verify a date because the diagram looks complete. Open the underlying records to inspect evidence and uncertainty; use Reports when you need a downloadable PDF.

See it on your own tree
