Free limits apply

If you exceed Free’s capacity, affected projects or collaborators may become read-only until you choose what to retain or reduce usage. Existing research stays available; the application explains which additions or edits are restricted.

The data stays

No record and no file is removed because a subscription lapsed. A lapsed account is a Free account holding more than Free would have let you put there, and it stays that way until you decide otherwise.

There is always an export

A full GEDCOM export is available on every plan, including Free and including lapsed. Export is not a paid feature anywhere in this product, because twenty years of somebody's work is not a hostage.

If you own more projects than Free allows, choose the project that keeps write access in Billing. You can also select retained collaborators per project. Excess projects stay read-only until capacity is resolved.

Is there a free version?

Yes. Free includes 1 owned project, up to 20,000 people across owned projects, 250 MB shared media storage, and 2 viewer collaborators per project, excluding the owner. Other record types do not count toward the person cap. No card or expiry.

Is my data mine?

Yes. The records you type, the scans you upload and the tree they describe stay yours. We do not sell them, we do not publish them, and we claim no licence to them. What we can see and what we do with it is set out in the Privacy Statement.

Can I export my data?

Owners can export their projects on every plan. GEDCOM 7 exports include supported imported data and your additions; review import warnings for anything that could not be converted. Collaborator exports follow the project’s export permission.

What happens if I stop paying?

At the end of your paid term you return to Free limits. Excess projects or collaborators may become read-only, but your research is not deleted. You can still read, delete and make authorized exports, and choose retained projects and collaborators in Billing.

What happens at the end of a term?

Paid subscriptions renew monthly or yearly until you cancel. Cancel in Leaves to stop renewal at the end of the paid term. Your confirmed plan stays active until then; afterwards Free limits apply, with reading, deletion and authorized export preserved.

Can I pay with iDEAL?

Stripe Checkout shows the payment methods eligible for your subscription and location. If iDEAL is offered, you can select it there. Review the payment method, recurring total and renewal terms before confirming.

Is there a trial?

No. Free is not a countdown, it is a smaller plan that stays free, so there is nothing to expire and no card to remember to cancel. If Free is enough for what you are doing, stay on it.

What does a collaborator cost?

Invited collaborators do not need a paid subscription. Each project uses its owner’s plan: 2 viewers on Free, 5 unique collaborators on Pro, and no collaborator ceiling on Max or Ultra. Pending invitations reserve slots; owners do not use slots. Sharing one project does not reduce another project’s allowance.

Do you ever run a sale?

No. Paid plans have the same published prices for new and existing subscribers, with no introductory rates or sales.

How are people and collaborator limits counted?

Free counts 20,000 people across all projects you own; other record types do not count. Pro includes 3 owned projects and 5 unique collaborators per project; Free includes 2 viewers per project. Max and Ultra have no project or collaborator ceiling. Owners do not use collaborator slots. Pending invitations reserve slots. Each project uses its owner’s allowance independently. Storage and AI pools are shared across the account’s owned projects.

Which plans include Leaves MCP?

Leaves MCP is available now on Max and Ultra; Free and Pro do not include it. Connect a compatible client and explicitly approve read or write access. Project roles and living-person privacy controls still apply.

What does an AI credit cover?

AI source assistance is coming soon and allowances are provisional. Under the proposed one-credit-per-standard-page operation weights, 100 credits mean 100 standard transcriptions or about 33 complete pages with transcription, translation and fact extraction. Input size affects the quote. Paid allowances renew monthly even on annual terms. Available balances, reset dates and permission-aware operation quotes will be shown when the shared ledger and processing are ready. Ordinary research tools remain available.
